Profhilo Structura - Is a Bio-remodeller (bio-stimulator): 
Focus is on improving the deeper layers of the face, specifically regenerating the fat pads. 
The treatment zone is the adipose tissue (fat), targeted using a cannula. 
Concentration of hyaluronic acid: 90mg in 2ml.

How many do I need, and how long does it last?

We recommend 2 – 3 treatments performed 1-2 months apart for optimal results. The number you will need will depend on your overall skin health, amount of skin laxity and volume loss.

How long does it last?
Profhilo Structura 6-9 months (sometimes 12 months)
Radiesse 12-18 months.
Sculptra up to 2 years and sometimes longer

Rule of thumb guidance for Sculptra is that you need 1 vial for every decade of life, so if you are age 42 you may need 4 vials spread accross 2-3 treatments, and if you are age 63 you may need 6 vials spread acrooss 2-3 treatments.

Some patients don't want to wait for 2 years until they have it again, and opt for long-term maintenance, by having one treatment every 6mths for Profhilo Structura / one treatment every 12 months for Radiesse and Sculptra (or when you begin to see the treatment’s effects wearing away). This is good for keeping up with optimum results.

Tip: Alternating Bio-stimulators with Skin Boosters (6 monthly), Exosomes (6 monthly), and Polynucleotides  (6 monthly) will further enhance all aspects of skin ageing and skin rejuvenation.

How does it differ from Filler?

Biostimulators stimulate the body to naturally produce new collagen and elastin, improving skin firmness and elasticity over time, while dermal fillers primarily provide immediate, but temporary volume and shape by physically filling in wrinkles and folds.

Biostimulator results are more gradual and subtle, with longer-lasting effects, whereas filler results are immediate but typically shorter-lived, requiring touch-ups.

If you are allergic to hyaluronidase (filler dissolver) and don't want to risk having fillers, this is a great alternative!

Considerations when booking an appointment

You will usually need 2 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.  So work backwards , allowing time for healing if you have a special event.

As with many aesthetic treatments, there is always a risk of bruising, so please ensure that you do not have any important special events such as holidays, weddings and parties in the week or so after your treatment. Bruising can last up to 2 weeks.

Please avoid any dental treatments, facials, massage and other treatments for at least 2 weeks after treatment.

Does it hurt?

The injections are carried out using a cannula, which means less injection points, it can feel a little uncomfortable but is generally very well tolerated.
After the treatment, you may experience some tenderness for the first 24- 72 hours.

Not suitable if:

You are under 18 years of age.

You have a known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid.

You have an active infection or inflammation near the intended injection site.

You think you could be pregnant, are pregnant, or are lactating or breastfeeding. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies of Profhilo STRUCTURA in pregnant or nursing women; therefore, safety cannot be guaranteed.

How should I prepare for treatment?

To ensure the safest experience and the best possible results, please follow these recommendations before your appointment:

Medications & Supplements – 3 days prior to treatment avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements (unless prescribed by your doctor): aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, vitamin E, fish oils, ginkgo, garlic, St John’s Wort. Do not stop prescription medication without first consulting your prescribing doctor.  If you are prone to bruising, taking arnica orally for a few days prior to treatment may lessen the risk
2 weeks before/after don't have a COVID-19, Influenza vaccincation, or antibiotics .

Alcohol & Lifestyle - Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment (it increases the risk of bruising). Reduce caffeine and very salty foods on the day of treatment to minimise swelling. Stay well-hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment and eat a light meal before your appointment. 
Avoid heavy exercise 24 hrs prior to your appointment.

Skincare - Avoid active skin irritation (eczema, rashes, cold sores, sunburn). 
Do not wear makeup to the appointment (mascara is ok).

Other Treatments - 1 week before avoid using active skincare such as retinoids (retinol, tretinoin, retinoic acid) and strong acids such as glycolic, AHA/BHA (can cause irritation & inflammation).
2 weeks prior don't have toxin (Botox), standard laser, dermaplaning, dermal fillers, electrolysis, depilatory creams, waxing on the area.
4 weeks prior do not have microneedling, dermabrasion, deep chemical peels, PDO threads, tattoos, ablative skin treatments ie Co2 fractional laser (skin must be fully healed before treatment).

Health Considerations - Inform us of any changes to your medical history, medications, or allergies since your last visit. Treatment is not recommended if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have active infections, or certain autoimmune conditions.

Planning Your Appointment - Mild swelling, redness, or bruising is common — plan your appointment with this in mind if you have social events coming up. Allow at least 2–3 weeks before important occasions.

Avoid Dental Work - Avoid dental procedures (including routine cleanings) for 2 weeks before and after, as these can increase the risk of infection. Major dental work should be avoided 4 weeks before and after.

To ensure the best possible results from your treatment and to minimise any risks or side effects, please follow the aftercare instructions below:
 
Immediately After Treatment
•	You may experience mild swelling, redness, or small bumps at the injection sites. This is completely normal and should subside within 24–72 hours.
•	Avoid touching the treated area for at least 12 hours to reduce the risk of irritation or infection.
•	Refrain from applying makeup for at least 12 hours, especially on or around the injection sites.
•	The treated area will feel slightly tender to the touch or with extreme facial expression. If bruising occurs, it will typically resolve over 5-10 days. Applying Arnica gel or bruise creams may help for a quicker recovery.
•	If needed, you can gently apply a cold compress (not directly on the skin) to reduce swelling or discomfort.
•	The area can be gently washed with a gentle cleanser or micellar water in the evening.
Follow the 555 massage rule if you have had Radiesse or Sculptra*

First 24–48 Hours
•	Avoid alcohol, caffeine, aspirin or anti-inflammatory medications, unless prescribed — these can increase the risk of bruising.
•	Do not engage in strenuous exercise, swimming, or anything that causes excessive sweating.
•	Avoid hot environments such as saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, or very hot baths/showers.
•	Sleep with your head slightly elevated for the first night if possible, to reduce any minor swelling.

First 2 weeks
•	Avoid extended sun and UV exposure (including sun beds) and temperatures below 0 degrees for two weeks.
•	Avoid heat treatments such as sauna and steam for two weeks.

Skincare & Hygiene
•	Continue your usual gentle skincare routine but avoid any exfoliating products, acids (e.g. glycolic/salicylic), retinoids or vitamin C serums for 48–72 hours.
•	Keep the area clean and moisturised to support skin healing, ideally a hyaluronic acid based skincare product.
•	Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily to protect your skin.

* 5-5-5 Massage rule - For Radiesse and Sculptra only
This step is very important as biostimulators cannot be dissolved if nodules form-  massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 consecutive days after the injection, to ensure the biostimulator disperses evenly, promotes collagen stimulation, and helps prevent the formation of lumps or nodules. This aftercare is crucial for maximising the treatment's effectiveness and achieving smooth, natural-looking results

What to Expect Over Time
• You may not see immediate visible changes. Results will develop gradually over the coming weeks, as your skin produces more collagen and elastin:
Profhilo - optimal results are typically seen around 2 weeks after the second treatment.
Radiesse - you may notice firmer, smoother skin within 4–6 weeks. Best results usually seen around 2–3 months.
Sculptra - you may start to see results 6–8 weeks after the first session. Most patients see the biggest difference after the 2nd or 3rd session, often around 3–6 months total.
